Went hiking up in the mountains again with a whole crew of people and camped on the top of Monte Pania. Amazing. We got to the top just as the sun was setting. Didn’t bring nearly enough bedding and shivered all night. We left on the hottest day of the year too (45 degrees). The mountains are tricky like that I guess. So anyway this is one of the photos that I have added to the Mountains series. Check out the rest in my Photography page.

Who is Bob? Well I am a piece of him/it – a collective of artists who work on colaborative art projects, usualy resulting as a performance art piece. We have been working on some great experimental cross medium stuff, mostly with improvisation being used as a way to find each others creative expression, understand it, and converse.

All the people involved are pretty damn cool and from a mix of music, dance, theater, visual, and circus backgrounds. Lih-Qun, (cellist – visual arts) I have known for about 13 years now and we can talk pretty expressively with each other through music, but the others are all fairly new to me and each other. They are all great artists though, that is for sure. So far, we have had some great opportunities to get together too. The most resent being in Berlin in Nov/Dec where we worked mostly in “Base Berlin” and performed our experiments and findings to a select audience at “Fabric”, Potsdam. This has lead to some pretty cool feedback and a residency/grant in Brisbane, Australia Nov 2011 – Feb 2012 at the Brink Program and then a perfomance at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Art. Cant wait for that!

Lately we have been working with the concept of leaving a visual impression of the performance on stage, which has lead to us creating a cool new prop. Pretty much its a big stretched canvas that is strong enough for the physical artists to play all over…I have been thinking of some cool ways it could become a musical instrument too…

Will post my findings on www.thebobcollective.com ….which is not up yet!! I’m working on it though. should only be a few more days.

In the mean time, check out our new demo of what we do…..

I have always loved video games but it has only occurred to me recently that the video gaming industry would be amazing to get into. The sound and music in some of the games are really epic and often quite cinematic. How cool would it be playing some RPG or FPS to your own orchestral piece? Not to mention that some of these blockbuster games make way more money than Hollywood movies these days.

Here are 3 tracks that I have done for an online RPG Greek fantasy game. I will let you all know when the game is up and running.

Labyrinth – a scary dungeon level with a boss at the end

Minotaur – the Boss at the end of the Dungeon level

Greek Village – the main home town where the hero can go back to buy potions and stuff..

This is the first piece to grace these pages “Smile”. Kind of a test really to see how this mp3 player works. Its a great track though. One of my old faves. I wrote it with Dan (Drhqnril – link below) over the Internet. I was just settling into London life and he was back in Sydney. London can be oh so grey and lonely if you don’t have mates yet, but making this made me feel better! Cheers Dan… Oh and Im sure you have some remixes of this, right mate? Post em up on the comments?
